The International Committee provides strategic direction and oversight for GKI worldwide, ensuring the preservation of authentic Goju-Ryu standards across all member countries. Our lead instructors serve on both the International Committee and Technical Panel.
Shihan James Rousseau

Chief Instructor & Co-Founder
Co-founder of GKI in 1993, Shihan Rousseau brings over five decades of martial arts experience. As Chief Instructor, he maintains the technical standards and authentic teachings of Goju-Ryu across the organization. His deep knowledge and dedication to traditional karate have shaped GKI's development and reputation for excellence.
Shihan Leonard Sim

International Chairman & Co-Founder
Co-founder and International Chairman, Shihan Sim has been instrumental in building GKI's international presence. He oversees the organization's strategic direction and coordinates activities across member countries, ensuring consistent standards and fostering growth throughout the GKI community. Shihan Sim also serves on the Technical Panel, contributing his extensive experience to maintaining GKI's technical excellence.
